Alvarado Day School

Alvarado Day School is located on Alvarado Drive SE in the Nob Hill neighborhood, one of Albuquerque's most vibrant and walkable communities. Situated close to the University of New Mexico, the center is a trusted choice for UNM faculty, staff, students, and families throughout the Nob Hill, University Heights, and Ridgecrest areas. In 2024, Alvarado Day School earned the Best Preschool award from Albuquerque The Magazine, recognizing the center's commitment to high-quality early childhood education. The campus features shaded outdoor classrooms that allow teachers to bring learning outside year-round. Director Carol Armijo has been with Alvarado Day School for over 30 years. Her credentials include the National Administrative Credential (NAC), Child Development Associates (CDA), and she is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Multicultural Education. Carol's long tenure and deep roots in the Nob Hill community make Alvarado a place where families feel at home from their very first tour.
